Track and Field Teams Produce an Event Winner at Miner Invitational

Rolla, Mo., (March 2, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College track and field teams continued their outdoor season competing at the Miner Invitational (Mo.) in Rolla, Mo., Friday and Saturday. The Vikings competed against programs from multiple collegiate divisions at the event. The women’s team was led by Sophomore Jozelynn Bostick, who won the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:20.74, and Freshman Aarion Pickens, who placed second in the shot put with a distance of 12.11 meters. Leading the men’s team was Freshman Dante Gordon (Kingston, Jamaica), who placed third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 47.89.

Fayette, Mo., (March 15, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College track and field teams opened their outdoor season competing at CMU Open in Fayette, Mo., Friday and Saturday. The women’s team was led by Sophomore Jozelynn Bostick (Centralia, Mo.) who won the 3000 meter run with a time of 11:25.54. Leading the men’s team were Freshman Stephen Caviness (Marshall, Mo.) and Freshman Dante Gordon (Kingston, Jamaica), who both placed second in their respective event.

Maryville, Mo., (Feb. 15, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College track and field teams competed at the 2025 Heart Indoor Championships in Maryville, Mo., Friday and Saturday. The Vikings were led by Freshman Dante Gordon who was a conference champion in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.08, meeting the “B” National qualifying standard and breaking the program’s record in the event. Freshman Montique Griffiths also broke the program's record in the 600 meter with a time of 1:23.11. Four student-athletes and the 4x400 relay team were recognized in the All-Conference Team.

Maryville, Mo., (Feb. 8, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College track and field teams competed at the Bearcat Invite in Maryville, Mo., Saturday. The Vikings competed against programs from multiple collegiate divisions at the event. The men’s team was led by Freshman Dante Gordon who finished sixth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.66.

Topeka, Kan., (Feb. 1, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College track and field teams continued their indoor season competing at the Washburn Invite in Topeka, Mo., Friday and Saturday. The Vikings competed against programs from multiple collegiate divisions at the event. The men’s team was led by Freshman Stephen Caviness who placed second in the high jump with a height of 1.97 meters and Freshman Dante Gordon who finished fifth in the 600 yard run with a time of 1:12.95, setting a new program-record in the event.

Warrensburg, Mo., (Jan. 24, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College track and field teams opened their indoor season at the UCM Invite, Friday. The Vikings competed against programs from multiple collegiate divisions at the event. The men’s team placed fifth in the standings, led by Freshman Stephen Caviness who won the long jump with a distance of 6.71 meters, and three other Vikings finished in the top three in their respective events. The 4x400 meter relay team ‘A’ placed second with a time of 3:30.04. The women’s team placed seventh overall.
