Weightlifting Competes at University Nationals

Columbus, Ohio, (March 2, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College weightlifting team traveled to Columbus, Ohio, for the USA Weightlifting University Nationals, held as a part of the Arnold Classic, the largest sports festival in the world. Ten Viking student-athletes qualified and competed, highlighted by Senior Ontarriyus Reid (Palatka, Fla.) who took home the program's first-ever gold medal, winning the Snatch event in his weight class, and also becoming the program's first four-time National medalist.
Powerlifting Sets A Record, Qualifies Lifters for Nationals at Regional Championship

Lebanon, Ill., (Feb. 9, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College powerlifting teams competed at the USA Powerlifting Collegiate Regional Qualifier in Lebanon, Ill., Saturday. Both Equipped teams placed first overall, and the women's Raw team was third. Four more members of the team qualified for Nationals, and one new American record was set.

Liberty, Mo., (Nov. 11, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College powerlifting team traveled to Liberty, Mo., to compete in the William Jewell (Mo.) Collegiate Invitational, Saturday. The meet featured seven programs including some of the top teams in the region.
Weightlifting Team Opens Competition Season at StrenghtWorks Open

St. Louis, Mo., (Oct. 19, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College weightlifting team opened its competition season with the USA Weightlifting StrenghtWorks Open in St. Louis, Mo., Saturday. Ten individuals earned National qualifying marks at the event.
Powerlifting Teams Host First-Ever Home Dual

Marshall, Mo., (Sept. 20, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College powerlifting team hosted the USA Powerlifting Cardinal and Viking Dual inside the Burns Athletic Complex Sunday. Records were set, multiple Viking lifters qualified for Nationals, and the women’s team captured a dual title against William Jewell (Mo.).
