Bio

Drew Hawkins enters his 15th season as the Missouri Valley College Vikings soccer coach in 2023. 

 

Coach Hawkins led the Vikings to their fourth-straight national tournament appearance in 2023. The Vikings had their most accomplished season yet under Hawkins. The Vikings finished the season ranked #13 in the nation with a record of 15-4-3. Additionally, the 2023 team captured the program's first-ever Heart Postseason Tournament championship, and earned the program's first-ever home National tournament game in the 2023 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship.

 

Hawkins has produced 14 winning seasons during his tenure.  On October 15, 2022 Coach Hawkins won his 150th game at Missouri Valley College vs William Penn. He currently has a career record of 174-103-30.  Coach Hawkins ranks #27 in current NAIA active coaches in all time wins. The program ranks #11 in the NAIA all time winnest program with 391 wins since its inception in 1986. The program also finished as a national runner up in 1991. 

 

During that time there has been great success in the Heart of America Conference receiving 79 All conference selections, 4 individual conference player awards, 12 All-Americans, over 100 NAIA scholar athletes, and over 100 graduates of Missouri Valley College. 

 

The Vikings have been ranked in 38 of the past 39 coaches' polls, dating back to December 11, 2019. The Vikings annually play one of the toughest schedules in the nation. Over the past 5 seasons the Vikings have played over 40 teams either ranked in the top 25 or receiving votes. 

 

Coach Hawkins attended and played soccer at Missouri Valley College under current head coach Vladimir Simic. During his time at Missouri Valley he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Criminal Justice in 2006. He earned a Masters degree in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University 2008. 

 

Coach Drew Hawkins resides in Marshall, MO with his wife Linze Hawkins a Missouri Valley College alumni, Missouri Valley College Athletic Hall of Fame inducted, and current faculty member.
