STUNT Drops Pair of Contest

St. Louis, Mo., (March 23, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College STUNT team competed twice, Saturday afternoon, in St. Louis, Mo.  The Vikings fell in contests to Central Methodist (Mo.) and Maryville (Mo.).

In the opening game against Central Methodist, Missouri Valley fell behind early, as the Eagles claimed a 2-0 lead in the first quarter of partner stunts.  The second quarter, focusing on pyramids and baskets, saw CMU extend the advantage to 4-0.  In the jumps and tumbling third quarter, Missouri Valley registered its first point of the contest, but eventually trailed by a 6-1 score.  The Vikings claimed three points in the fourth quarter, its best quarter of the contest.  However, the Eagles extended their lead and closed out a 10-4 win over Missouri Valley.

Freshman India Trimble (Falmouth, Ky.), Freshman Crysta Newton (Flushing, Mich.), Junior Ashtyn Doran (Blue Springs, Mo.), Freshman Parker Hoobler (Boulder, Colo.), Freshman Chloeane Vico (Miami, Fla.), Freshman Jaedyn Butler (Kanakee, Ill.) and Freshman Madison Race (Fayette, Mo.) were all on the floor for each of the four points for the Vikings.

The second game of the day came against Maryville.  Missouri Valley fell in the contest by a final score of 23-0.

The losses drop Missouri Valley to 2-6 and concludes the program's inaugural season.
