Marshall, Mo., (May 31, 2023)- Missouri Valley College Athletic Director Mike Machholz announces the hiring of Reba Kingsley as the new head coach for the shooting sports program.

Kingsley comes to Missouri Valley after three seasons leading the shooting sports program at Upper Iowa in Fayette, Iowa.  Kingsley started the program from scratch three years ago, and led Upper Iowa to quick success.  Her program finished second overall at the Iowa State Championship, took third in the Division II level at the NCSSAA Nationals in Las Vegas, Nev., earlier this spring, and produced a National champion in men's trap.

Prior to her time as a coach, Kingsley competed for the shooting sports team at Midland (Neb.) in Fremont, Neb.  As a collegiate student-athlete, Kingsley was part of a first place finish in Division II at the ACUI Clay Target Championships in 2017, and a third place finish at the Division I level at the ACUI Clay Target Championships in 2018.

"I am thrilled for the opportunity to lead the Missouri Valley College shooting sports team," said Kingsley.  I am confident that the shooting sports team will succeed with hard work and dedication from student-athletes, our administration, and with community support.  The Missouri Valley shooting sports team is full of potential, and I look forward to working with the student-athletes.  I want to thank Mike Machholz and the hiring committee for trusting me with the program's future.  I also would like to thank all the mentors and student-athletes I have worked with previously, as they impacted me as a coach and laid the foundation for my coaching career."

Kingsley is a certified coach through National Sporting Clays Association Level I, National Skeet Shooting Association Level I, NRA Shotgun Level I and Iowa DNR Shotgun Sports.  She graduated from Midland with a bachelor's degree in human services, with a concentration in early childhood, and a criminal justice minor.  She is currently working on her Master's degree in sports administration.

"I am very excited to bring Reba into the fold as our next Head Shooting Sports Coach,' said Athletic Director Mike Machholz.  "She brings a new energy and experience on the collegiate level to our program!  She has been involved with National championships as a competitor and as a coach at this level, which will help her to elevate our program moving forward.  Her experience in starting a program from scratch and recruiting abilities are a great plus for our program's potential growth.  She will certainly benefit from a solid base of experienced shooters returning and with the valued experience of Coach Croka and Coach McEachern being retained in the staff."

Kingsley takes over the head coaching duties from Delmar Croka, who will move to the position of range manager and assistant coach with the program.  John McEachern will also stay on as an assistant coach.
