TRACK AND FIELD TEAMS OPENS INDOOR SEASON AT UCM INVITE.

Warrensburg, Mo., (Jan. 19, 2023)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's track and field teams opened their indoor seasons at the UCM Indoor Invite Friday in Warrensburg, Mo. Chase Buford (Republic, Mo) lead the team with a 2nd place finish in long jump.

Men's Results:

 Sophomore Chase Buford (Republic, Mo.): Placed 2nd in long jump with a distance of 6.63 meters.

 

Sophomore Derel Morris (New York, N.Y.): Placed 6th in the 600 yard run with a time of 1:19.02. 

 

Freshman Mac Dawkins (Spokane, Wash.): Placed 9th in long jump with a distance of 6.21 meters.

 

Freshman Jorge Munoz (Madrid, Spain): Placed 9th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.80.

 

Junior Rodrigo Escalona-Rodriguez (El Paso, Texas): Placed 9th in the 600 yard run with a time of 1:26.86.

 

Freshman Matthew Fisher (Houston, Texas): Placed 10th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.61. He also placed 11th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.64. 

Freshman Terrill Davis: Placed 13th in long jump with a distance of 5.58 meters. 

 

Women's Results:

 

Junior Paula Romero Rodriguez (Madrid, Spain): Placed 3rd in weight throw with a distance of 14.46 meters. She also placed 11th in shot put with a distance of 10.67 meters. 

 

Senior Macie Ables (Olathe, Kan.): Placed 4th in weight throw with a distance of 14.41 meters. She also placed 6th in shot put with a distance of 11.56 meters. 

Sophomore Emily Lechuga (LaPorte, Texas): Placed 5th in the 600 yard run with a time of 1:45.93.

  

Sophomore Federica Gammarota (Sofoggia, Italy): Placed 6th in the 60 meter hurdles semifinals with a time of 10.28, qualifying her for finals. Overall she placed 5th in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.12. 

 

Freshman Ahnesty Shurme (Tyler, Texas): Placed 8th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.48.

 

Junior Arianna Loot (Bay City, Texas): Placed 10th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.62.

 

Junior Kylie Linson (Troy, Mo.): Placed 12th in weight throw with a distance of 12.76 meters.  She also placed 20th in shot put with a distance of 8.91 meters.

Freshman Mya McKenzie (St. Louis, Mo.): Placed 14th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.41. She also placed 22nd in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.64. She also

 

Junior Samantha Bitz (Marion, Ill.): Placed 17th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.85.

 

Freshman Isabella Kuenkamp (Warrensburg, Mo.): Placed 18th in shot put with a distance of 9.20 meters. 

 

Freshman Raven Knoche (Lowden, La.): Placed 21st in shot put with a distance of 8.82 meters. 

 

Freshman Choize Hysten (Topeka, Kan.): Placed 27th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.80.  

4x400 meter relay (Lechuga, Gammarota, Shurme, Hysten) placed 7th overall with a time of 4:31.18.

 

Up next, the Viking track and field teams will continue their indoor seasons at the Wendy's Pitt State (Kan.) Invite, Jan. 27, in Pittsburg, Kan.
