Tennis Teams Sweep Grand View, Split Against John Brown

Marshall, Mo., (April 6, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's tennis teams played back-to-back contests this week, taking on Grand View (Iowa) at home and traveling to Siloam Springs, Ark., to play John Brown (Ark.).  Both teams swept past Grand View in 7-0 wins, followed by the men's team defeating John Brown, 6-1, while the women's team fell, 4-3 in matches.

No. 1-Senior Francesco Caratti (Novara, Italy)/Freshman Sergio Martinez defeated Dylan Ramsey/Enzo Naveda, 6-4.

No. 2-Sophomore Alexis Diaz (Bordeaux, France)/Sophomore Alecson Deschamps (Bluemenau, Brazil) defeated Abbot Haner/Zachary Wallace, 6-2.

No. 3-Missouri Valley won by forfeit.

No. 1-Martinez defeated Ramsay, 6-2, 6-2.

No. 2-Freshman Ruslan Anurev (Novorossiysk, Russia) defeated Naveda, 6-3, 6-2.

No. 3-Diaz defeated Haner, 6-0, 6-2.

No. 4-Liebenberg defeated Hillock, 6-2, 7-6.

No. 5-Moreno lost to Swan, 1-6, 4-6.

No. 6-Mhizha defeated Isaac, 6-3, 6-0.

 

The men's team improves to 7-5 on the season, while the women's team moves to 5-7.
