Dance Team Places Fourth at Benedictine Classic

Atchison, Kan., (Feb. 18, 2023)- The Missouri Valley College cheer and dance teams competed at the Benedictine (Kan.) Classic, Sunday. The cheer team took first place in their event standings, and the dance team finished fourth in its competition.

In the cheer competition, teams only performed once, and Missouri Valley finished with a final score of 87.39 to take the first place in the event. Second place was Ottawa (Kan.) University, finishing with a final score of 79.83. Benedictine (Kan.) placed third with a score of 76.96.

Benedictine Classic-Cheer:

  1. Missouri Valley College- 87.39

  2. Ottawa University- 79.83

  3. Benedictine College- 76.96

  4. Peru State- 67.60

  5. McPherson College- 63.08

  6. Oklahoma Panhandle- 55.09

  7. Graceland- 41.54

 

In the dance competition, teams only performed once, and Missouri Valley placed fourth overall, with a score of 66.57. St. Ambrose (Iowa) took first place with a final score of 81.23.

Benedictine Classic-Dance:

  1. St. Ambrose University- 81.23

  2. Graceland University- 73.23

  3. Benedictine College- 71.90

  4. Missouri Valley College- 66.57

  5. Ottawa University- 62.77

  6. McPherson College- 51.97

 

Up next, the competitive dance team will compete at the Columbia (Mo.) Cougar Classic, Feb. 23. The competitive cheer team will compete at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships on Mar. 9, in Baldwin City, Kan.
