Cheer Finishes Seventh at NAIA National Championship

Ypsilanti, Mich., (March 30, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College cheer team finished competition at the 2024 NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championship, Saturday afternoon, in Ypsilanti, Mich.  The team placed seventh overall in the final standings.

 

Missouri Valley entered the final performance round in eighth place after earning a score of 87.73 in the preliminary round, Friday.  The preliminary score accounts for 25-percent of the team's overall score, with Saturday's final performance score accounting for the remaining 75-percent.

 

In Saturday's final performance, Missouri Valley earned scores of 89.2, 88.3 and 88.6 from the three judges.  The Vikings were not penalized with any deductions, and finished with a score of 88.70 in the round.  The two combined scores gave the team an overall score of 88.46, which moved MVC up one spot into the seventh position in the final standings

 

The seventh place finish is the highest for the program since taking fourth at the 2021 National championship.  Missouri Valley has placed in the top ten in each of the seven contested NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championships.
