Noah Cotterman Announced as New Men's Volleyball Head Coach

Marshall, Mo., (June 12, 2024)- Missouri Valley College Athletic Director Mike Machholz announces the hiring of Noah Cotterman as the new Head Coach for the men's volleyball program.

Cotterman comes to Missouri Valley after serving the previous three seasons as an assistant coach with the Benedictine (Ariz.) men's volleyball program.  While on staff, Cotterman helped the program win two regular season titles in the California Pacific Conference and finish as National runner-up at the NAIA Men's Volleyball National Championship twice, in 2021 and 2022.  He also coached three California Pacific Player of the Year award winners and 14 all-conference selections.

"We are excited to announce the hiring of Noah Cotterman for the men's volleyball head coaching position," said Machholz.  "With Coach Todorov stepping down to spend more time with his family, we needed to make sure that we found someone that could keep the momentum going that this program has established.  Cotterman's experience with his previous position and their success make him the right man for the job.  He is very familiar with NAIA men's volleyball and the Heart of America Athletic Conference, so he should be a seamless transition from that perspective.  I am confident he can continue to build the program through his recruiting contacts and get us into the National championship conversation in the future."

Prior to his time at Benedictine, Cotterman spent two seasons on the coaching staff at Park (Ariz.), where he helped produce one California Pacific Player of the Year award winner, and nine all-conference selections.  Cotterman has also been active as a youth volleyball coach, coaching club teams and the Higley (Ariz.) High School boy's volleyball team in the Phoenix, Ariz., area.

"I am excited to take over the Missouri Valley College men's volleyball program," said Cotterman.  "I want to thank Athletic Director Mike Machholz for giving me this opportunity, and I will work to continue on the legacy, tradition and culture that has been put in place by past teams."

Cotterman will take over the men's volleyball program which finished the 2024 season with a 21-6 overall record and a 13-6 record in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, finishing the season ranked No. 11 in the final regular season coaches' poll.
