Cheer Team Puts Five on NAIA All-American Team, Including Five-Time All-American Rylee Mills

Marshall, Mo., (April 4, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College cheer team has put five of its student-athletes on the 2024 NAIA Competitive Cheer All-American Team, released Thursday.

Leading the selections are Senior Rylee Mills (Oak Grove, Mo.) and Sophomore Mackenzie Allison (Kansas City, Mo.), both named first team All-Americans.  Mills becomes a five-time NAIA All-American, earning the honor in each season beginning with 2020.  He is the only cheer student-athlete in NAIA history to be a five-time All-American.  Allison is now a two-time All-American, having earned second team honors in 2023.

Three more Vikings were named third team All-Americans.  Senior Kylee Meares (Celina, Texas) becomes a two-time All-American, after earning honorable mention recognition in 2023.  Also, Freshman Charles Duvall (Marietta, Ga.) and Freshman Gabriela Lopez (McDonough, Ga.) earned All-American recognition for the first time.

"We are incredibly proud of our five All-American recipients for their hard work and commitment to personal growth and excellence," said Cheer Head Coach Nick Lutz.  "It is an honor to have coached a student-athlete that earned a rare accomplishment as a five-time All-American in Rylee Mills.  He is the first in program-history, and the only one in NAIA history, to achieve an honor that may never be replicated.  We congratulate all of these student-athletes on adding the 2024 All-American title to their already outstanding careers.  We can't wait to see what they do in the future."

The Missouri Valley cheer team recently finished its season placing seventh at the 2024 NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championship.  The program has finished in the top ten in each of the seven contested National championships.  Missouri Valley also captured an eighth-straight Heart of America Athletic Conference championship, last month.
