Cheerleader Earns Weekly Heart Award

Marshall, Mo., (March 12, 2024)- A Missouri Valley College cheerleader has earned a weekly award from the Heart of America Athletic Conference after helping her team capture an eighth-straight conference title over the weekend.

Freshman Parker Hoobler (Boulder, Colo.) has been named the Heart Cheerleader of the Week following her performances at the Heart Competitive Cheer Championship.  Hoobler helped the Vikings earn a preliminary round score of 89.73, and followed with a final round score of 90.10.  Hoobler and the team finished with a total score of 90.01 to earn the program's eighth-straight conference championship.

Hoobler earned the first weekly Heart award of her career as a Viking and joins teammate Freshman Carter McCourt (Bristol, Ind.), who also won the weekly award back on Feb. 19 as the only two members of the team to be recognized as Heart Cheerleader of the Week this season.  Hoobler was also named to the Heart Competitive Cheer All-Conference Second Team after Saturday's championship

Capturing the Heart championship earned Missouri Valley an automatic berth in the 2024 NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championship, which takes place March 29-30 in Ypsilanti, Mich.
