Men's Soccer Puts Four on NAIA All-America Team

Marshall, Mo., (Dec. 11, 2023)- The Missouri Valley College men's soccer team has put four of its student-athletes on the 2023 NAIA Men's Soccer All-American Team, which was announced Monday.

Leading the selections are Senior Defender Kazuki Hashimoto (Yokohama, Japan) and Junior Forward Sam Green (Bromley, England), both named first team All-Americans.  Hashimoto earns a third All-American selection, after being an honorable mention in both 2021 and 2022.  Green earns his second-straight first team selection.

Hashimoto started in all 20 games played this season, scoring one goal and adding three assists.  He anchored a defense that allowed only 1.25 goals per game average, producing six total shutouts.

Green capped the season with a program record-tying 45 total points, which included 17 goals, tied for second-most in a single season for the program, and 11 assists.

Junior Midfielder Tate Richards (London, England) was named a second team All-American.  A first-time selection, Richards registered one goal and one assist on the season.  Also earning his first selection was Junior Midfielder Yoshiki Igarashi (Tokyo, Japan).  Igarashi scored four goals and added two assists this season.  The pair helped lead an offense that finished second in the Heart of America Athletic Conference with 47 goals scored and 40 assists.

The four All-American selections ties a program-record for the most in a single-season, which only occurred in 2020.  Missouri Valley finished with an overall record of 14-6, capturing both the Heart regular season championship and conference postseason tournament title.  The team advanced to the third round of the 2023 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship.
