No. 19 Women's Wrestling Defeats No. 16 St. Mary on Senior Night
Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 6, 2024)- The No. 19 Missouri Valley College women's wrestling team hosted No. 16 St. Mary (Kan.) in a Senior Night dual inside the Burns Athletic Complex, Tuesday evening. The Vikings won nine of the ten weight classes, including four victories by pin to defeat the Spires, 44-5.
101 pounds: Sophomore Sage Beltran (Honolulu, Hawaii) won by forfeit as St. Mary left the weight class open. Missouri Valley leads, 5-0
109 pounds: No. 12 Junior Hailey Holland (San Bernardino, Calif.) lost to No. 1 Alexsys Jacquez in a first period (2:11) pin. Teams are tied, 5-5.
116 pounds: No. 13 Laura Lincoln (Searcy, Ark.) defeated No. 20 Angelina Rediger in a first period (3:00) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 10-5.
123 pounds: Junior Mystyque Anderson (Kansas City, Mo.) won by forfeit as St. Mary left the weight class open. Missouri Valley leads, 15-5.
130 pounds: Sophomore Madeline Santana (San Bernardino, Calif.) won by forfeit as St. Mary left the weight class open. Missouri Valley leads, 20-5
136 pounds: Senior Willow Barnes (Romulus, Mich.) defeated Allison King in a second period (4:19) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 25-5.
143 pounds: No. 18 Freshman Maria Slaughter (Wentzville, Mo.) won by forfeit as St. Mary left the weight class open. Missouri Valley leads, 30-5
155 pounds: Senior Brooke-Lynn Rush (St. Joseph, Mo.) defeated Rebekah Koolstra in a 10-0 technical fall. Missouri Valley leads, 34-5.
170 pounds: Freshman Tylah Allen (Jonesboro, Ark.) defeated No. 18 Amelia Fournfelfter in a first period (1:38) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 39-5.
191 pounds: Senior Kelani Corbett (Wahiawa, Hawaii) defeated No. 5 Lessly Sandoval in a first period (2:03) pin.
Missouri Valley defeated St. Mary, 44-5.
Missouri Valley improves to 4-8 on the season in duals.
