Women's Lacrosse Opens Season at William Jewell

Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 3, 2024)-  The Missouri Valley College women's lacrosse team opened its 2024 season at home, Saturday afternoon, welcoming in NCAA Division II William Jewell (Mo.).  The Vikings fell in the season-opener.

 

Freshman Attacker Rose Szymanski (Southampton, England) had one shot on goal for Missouri Valley, with another shot from Freshman Midfielder Hailey Davis (Maryville, Tenn.).  Freshman Goalkeeper Atleigh Lark (Alma, Mo.) led the team with four ground balls, and made three saves.  Junior Midfielder Alexis Lark (Alma, Mo.) added three ground balls, while Senior Midfielder Jada Fepuleai (Tafuna, American Samoa) totaled three caused turnovers.

 

Missouri Valley fell to William Jewell by a final score of 24-0.  The Vikings drop to 0-1, while William Jewell improves to 1-0.

 

Up next, the women's lacrosse team will travel to Leavenworth, Kan., to play a non-conference game against St. Mary (Kan.), Feb. 17 at 1 p.m.
