DAY 1 COMPLETE AT MISSOURI VALLEY COLLEGE INVITATIONAL
Marshall, Mo. (January 19, 2024)- The No. 14 Missouri Valley College men's wrestling team opened one of the largest collegiate men's wrestling tournaments in the country with day one of the Missouri Valley Invitational. The Missouri Valley Invitational takes place Friday and Saturday inside the Burns Athletic Complex, bringing in nearly 50 programs, with close to 400 individuals. Six Vikings advanced to day two of the tournament, and put the team into fourth place overall, with three still on the championship side of the bracket.
Sophomore Elijah Asuncion (Honolulu, Hawaii)-125 pounds:
First Round: Defeated Jordan O'Connor of Hastings (Neb.) in a 12-7 decision.
Second Round: Lost to Deandre Coles of Providence (Mont.) in a 6-5 decision.
