Men's Wrestling Competes at Lindenwood Open
St. Charles, Mo., (Nov. 18, 2023)- The Missouri Valley College men's wrestling team competed at the Lindenwood (Mo.) Open in St. Charles, Mo., Saturday. The Vikings competed against teams from multiple collegiate divisions.
Black Division
Freshman Nolan Frank (Elk Grove, Calif.)- 285 pounds:
First Round: Received a bye.
Second Round: Defeated Kaleb Abad of Marian (Ind.) in a first period (2:56) pin.
Quarterfinal: Defeated Jace Shiney of Missouri Baptist in a second period (3:29) pin.
Semifinal: Lost to Noah Lobe of Indian Hills (Iowa) in an 11-0 major decision.
Consolation Fourth Round: Defeated Jacob Bader of Missouri Baptist in a 18-3 technical fall.
Third Place Match: Defeated Wylie Dunn of Cumberlands (Ky.) in a 2-1 decision.
Frank placed third at 285 pounds.
Freshman Blaine Ortiz (Pineville, Mo.)- 141 pounds:
