Men's Lacrosse Hosts First Home Game of the Season Against Ottawa
Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 28, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College men's lacrosse team hosted Ottawa (Kan.) in a non-conference game, Wednesday evening, inside Volney C. Ashford Stadium. The Vikings fell to the Braves.
Junior Alvaro Atienza (Madrid, Spain) scored one goal for Missouri Valley, and scooped up seven ground balls in the contest. Sophomore Carson Willey (Carstairs, Alberta) assisted on the goal. Junior Aleix Costa (Barcelona, Spain) caused two turnovers, and Freshman George Dieck (Baltimore, Md.) added three ground balls. Junior Jordan Bracamonte (Tucson, Ariz.) made eight saves in goal. The Vikings limited Ottawa to seven goals in the second half, but fell by a final score of 19-1.
Missouri Valley drops to 0-2 on the season, while Ottawa improves to 1-0.
Up next, the Viking men's lacrosse team goes to Davenport, Iowa, for a game with St. Ambrose (Iowa), March 13.
