Men's Lacrosse Falls to William Penn in Final Game of Season

Oskaloosa, Iowa, (Apr. 22, 2023)- The Missouri Valley College traveled to Oskaloosa, Iowa, Saturday afternoon for a Heart of America Athletic Conference contest against William Penn (Iowa). The Vikings had their season come to an end with a loss to the Statesmen.

Leading the way for Missouri Valley was Senior Attacker Cole Eycklehoff (High River, Alberta), who led with two goals. Sophomore Midfielder Junior Keuwo (Olathe, Kan.) had one goal and three assists, while Sophomore Long Stick Middle Joey Van Goethem (Sterling Heights, Mich.) totaled one goal and one assist. Sophomore Midfielder Beau Fischer (Marietta, Ga.) added two assists, while Sophomore Midfielder Alvaro Atienza (Madrid, Spain), Freshman Attacker Dre Mcclain (Fort Myers, Fla.), Senior Midfielder Tommy Dawson (Gaithersburg, Md.) and Freshman Attacker Carsley Willey (Carstairs, Alberta) all had one goal each. Sophomore Goalkeeper Jake Lipscomb (Boiling Springs, S.C.) finished with 21 saves as Missouri Valley lost the game, 23-8. As a team, MVC forced 17 turnovers and came up with 17 ground balls.

The loss ends the season for the Viking men's lacrosse team at 3-11 overall and 1-4 in the Heart. William Penn improves to 12-5 on the season and 5-0 in the conference.
