ESports Rocket League Clinches at Least Share of Heart Title

Marshall, Mo., (March 20, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College Esports Rocket League team played Graceland (Iowa) in a Heart of America Athletic Conference series Thursday evening inside the MVC Esports Arena.  The Vikings finished out a sweep of the Yellowjackets, and earned at least a share of the Heart regular season title.

 

Missouri Valley opened the best-of-five series with a 3-0 win over Graceland in game one.  Diego Ruiz scored two goals, while Dominic had two assists and one goal, limiting GU to only one shot on goal.  Game two was a 2-0 win for the Vikings as Hoskin and Ruiz each had one goal, while Hoskin added three saves.  Game three was a 4-0 win to complete the sweep, as Ruiz scored all four goals, with Colton Herrin and Hoskin making two saves apiece.

 

Ruiz led with seven goals and one assist, while Hoskin added two goals and three assists, with Herrin totaling four assists and five saves.

 

The win moves Missouri Valley to 5-0 on the season.  The win clinches at least a share of the Heart regular season title.  The team can earn an outright conference championship with a victory over Central Methodist (Mo.) in a meeting Friday at 7:30 p.m., inside the MVC ESports Arena.
