Women's Volleyball Puts Three Student-Athletes on Heart All-Conference Team
Marshall, Mo., (Nov. 19, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College women's volleyball team has put three of its student-athletes on the 2024 Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference Team for their performances during the season.
Leading the selections is Senior Outside Hitter Ana Oro (Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina), who was a first team all-conference selection, the first for the program since Alle Grelle in 2020. Oro led the team with 330 kills, 376 total points and a 3.55 kills per game average during the season. Oro also finished with 313 digs, 35 total blocks and 25 aces, and totaled 14 double-doubles during the season.
Named to the all-conference second team was Junior Libero Ana Franco (Cascais, Portugal). Franco led the team with 500 digs during the season, 4.27 digs per game average, and added 35 aces. Franco finished with 20 or more digs in nine matches this season.
Also recognized was Senior Outside Hitter Ksenija Simun (Kotor, Montenegro), on the honorable mention list. Simun, a third team all-conference selection last season, was second on the team with 321 kills and a 2.84 kills per game average. Simun added 26 aces, 275 digs and nine double-doubles.
The women's volleyball team finished with a 15-16 overall record, and a 7-10 record in the Heart in the first season under Head Coach Nicole Murphy. The Vikings earned a berth into the Heart Postseason Tournament for just the second time since 2018.
