Cross Country Competes at Griffon Invite

St. Joseph, Mo., (Oct. 5, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College cross country teams competed at the Griffon Invite in St. Joseph, Mo., Saturday morning.

 

The men's team was led by Freshman Evans Kiptoo (Eldoret, Kenya), who finished the 8k race in a time of 30:01 to place at No. 103 overall.  Freshman Montique Griffiths (Clarendon, Jamaica) followed at No. 116 in a time of 36:45 and Junior Angel Lopez (Los Fresnos, Calif.) came in at 40:06 to place at No. 117.

 

The women's team was led by Freshman Brynna Wentland (Higginsville, Mo.), who placed at No. 91 in the 5k race with a time of 26:36.  Freshman Faraja Nyasa (Kansas City, Mo.) followed at No. 92 with a time of 30:08.

 

Up next, the Viking cross country teams will compete at the Haskell (Kan.) Invitational in Lawrence, Kan., Oct. 12.
