
No. 10 Women's Wrestling Tops No. 13 Baker in Home Dual
Marshall, Mo. (Jan. 22, 2025)- The No. 10 Missouri Valley College women's wrestling team hosted No. 13 Baker (Kan.) in a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual Wednesday evening inside the Burns Athletic Complex. The Vikings won seven of the ten weight classes, including two victories by pin to defeat the Wildcats, 29-14.
103 pounds: No. 17 Junior Sage Beltran (Honolulu, Hawaii) defeated No. 20 Veronica Greene in a first period (1:20) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 5-0.
110 pounds: No. 8 Senior Hailey Holland (San Bernardino, Calif.) defeated Kinzie Rogers in a 10-0 technical fall. Missouri Valley leads, 9-0.
117 pounds: No. 18 Freshman Ashtyn Sagely (Broken Arrow, Okla.) lost to No. 5 Katherine Heath in a 14-3 technical fall. Missouri Valley leads, 10-4.
124 pounds: Freshman Isla Baeza (Orem, Utah) defeated Zoey Freeman in a 9-3 decision. Missouri Valley leads, 13-5.
131 pounds: No. 6 Senior Ashley Whetzal (Virginia Beach, Va.) defeated Zoey Kessler in a first period (0:55) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 18-5.
138 pounds: Sophomore Chase Kiel (Kansas City, Mo.) lost to Audrey Darnell in a 5-0 decision. Missouri Valley leads, 18-8.
145 pounds: No. 6 Freshman Sevreign Aumua (Grain Valley, Mo.) defeated No. 15 McKenna Haltom in a 10-0 technical fall. Missouri Valley leads, 22-8.
160 pounds: Junior Autumn Perez (Dodge City, Kan.) lost to Elizabeth Cope in a first period (2:45) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 22-13.
180 pounds: No. 2 Senior Kelani Corbett (Wahiawa, Hawaii) defeated No. 19 Nevaeh Wardlow in a 10-0 technical fall. Missouri Valley leads, 26-13.
207 pounds: Freshman Aniya Herbin (Tampa, Fla.) defeated No. 14 Kara Pope in a 6-2 decision.
Missouri Valley defeats Baker, 29-14.
