No. 9 Women's Wrestling Competes at Doane Open

Crete, Neb., (Dec. 7, 2024)- The No. 9 Missouri Valley College women's wrestling team traveled to Crete, Neb., to compete at the Doane Open. The Vikings competed against programs across multiple divisions. 

 

Freshman Ilsen Ventura (Fate, Texas)-103lbs:

First Round: Lost to Monee Cordero of University of Providence (Mont.) in a first period (0:55) pin. 

Consolation First Round: Lost to Veronica Greene of Baker (Kan.) in a 10-0 technical fall.

 

Freshman Sarah Pineda (Perris, Calif.)-110lbs:

First Round: Defeated Kylee Slyter of Baker (Kan.) in an 8-6 decision.

Second Round: Lost to Toni Avelino of Central Methodist (Mo.) in a 14-4 technical fall.

Consolation Second Round: Defeated Dalilah Aguayo of Trinidad State (Colo.) in a 10-0 technical fall.

Consolation Third Round: Defeated Jaden Breeden of Doane (Neb.) in a 13-2 technical fall.

Consolation Fourth Round: Lost to Kayla Shota of University of Providence (Mont.) in a 12-0 technical fall.
