Women's Wrestling Drops Road Dual to No. 19 Baker

Baldwin City, Kan., (Jan. 10, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College women's wrestling team traveled to Baldwin City, Kan., Wednesday evening, for a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual with No. 19 Baker (Kan.). The Vikings fell, 15-32.

 

101 pounds: No. 19 Sophomore Sage Beltran (Honolulu, Hawaii) won by forfeit.  Missouri Valley leads, 5-0.

109 pounds: No. 12 Junior Hailey Holland (San Bernardino, Calif.) lost to No. 20 Kylee Slyter in a 4-2 decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 5-3.

116 pounds: Missouri Valley left the weight class open.  No. 5 Katherine Heath won by forfeit.  Baker leads, 8-6.

123 pounds: Missouri Valley left the weight class open.  Zoe Shariq won by forfeit.  Baker leads, 13-6.

130 pounds: Sophomore Madeline Santana (San Bernardino, Calif.) defeated Willow Dubois in a 15-0 technical fall.  Baker leads, 13-20.

136 pounds: Senior Aniesta Acosta (Sacramento, Calif.) lost to No. 19 Abbie Jones in a first period (1:05) pin.  Baker leads, 18-10.

143 pounds: Senior Willow Barnes (Romulus, Mich.) lost to Reagan Wonnell in a first period (1:49) pin.  Baker leads, 23-10.

155 pounds: Junior Elise Falcetti (St. Louis, Mo.) defeated Emma Grossoehme in a first period (1:22) pin.  Baker leads, 23-15.

170 pounds: Freshman Tylah Allen (Jonesboro, Ark.) lost to No. 18 Jaclyn Daley in a 15-0 technical fall.  Baker leads, 27-15.

191 pounds: Freshman Hollie Hedgpeth (Cameron, Mo.) lost to No. 16 Elisa Robinson in a first period (1:07) pin.

Baker defeated Missouri Valley 32-15.

 

Missouri Valley drops to 1-5 on the season in duals.  The Vikings topped the Wildcats, 35-14, on Jan. 5, at the NWCA National Duals.

 

Up next, the women's wrestling team will compete at the York (Neb.) Duals, Friday, followed by the York (Neb.) Open, Saturday.
