Three Powerlifters Earn National Berths at Missouri State Championships

Liberty, Mo., (March 9, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College powerlifting team competed at the USA Powerlifting Missouri State Championships and Primetime meet in Liberty, Mo., Saturday.  Three Vikings clinched berths into the Collegiate Nationals.

 

Senior Jane Watts (Liberty, Mo.)- 1st Women's Collegiate Raw 60 kg: Squat 87.5 kg/192.5 lbs, Bench Press 60 kg/132 lbs, Deadlift 122.5 kg/247.5 lbs.  Watts finished with 270 kg/ 594 lbs Total

 

Freshman Raven Knoche (Lowden, Iowa)- 1st Women's Collegiate Equipped 100+ kg: Squat 140 kg/308 lbs, Bench Press 85 kg/187 lbs, Deadlift 140 kg/308 lbs.  Knoche finished with 365 kg/ 803 lbs Total.

 

Senior Dawson Woehr (Folk, Mo.)- 1st Men's Collegiate Equipped 75 kg: Squat 167.5 kg/368.5 lbs, Bench Press 110 kg/242 lbs, Deadlift 227.5 kg/500.5 lbs.  Woehr finished with 505 kg/1,111 lbs Total.

 

All three earned berths into the Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals, and join 12 other members of the team that have earned berths.  Those previously securing berths include Junior Audrey Schoch (San Antonio, Texas), Senior Lauren Bates (Kearney, Mo.), Senior Shu'Ron Thompson (North Kansas City, Mo.), Senior Macie Ables (Olathe, Kan.), Senior Reyven McDonald (Bonner Springs, Mo.) Senior Savanah Ewing (Stockton, Calif.), Freshman Azlyn Schwarzer (Burleson, Texas), Freshman Corey Morabito (Landsdale, Pa.), Sophomore Gabe Pineda (Marshall, Mo.), Junior OT Reid (Palatka, Fla.), Junior Markus Stepanoff (Milton, Ontario), amd Senior Joshua Barnhill (Burgaw, N.C.).

 

The USA Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals in Atlanta, GA this year, April 11-14.
