Cross Country Competes at Larry Young Invitational

Columbia, Mo., (Sept. 20, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Larry Young Invite in Columbia, Mo., Friday evening.

 

Leading the men's team in the 8k race was Freshman Evans Kiptoo (Eldoret, Kenya), who finished at No. 153 with a time of 30:30.  Freshman Montique Griffiths (Clarendon, Jamaica) followed at No. 206 with a time of 36:58, and Junior Angel Lopez (Los Fresnos, Texas) finished at No. 212 with a time of 40:47.

 

The women's team was led by Sophomore Jozelynn Bostick (Centralia, Mo.) who placed at No. 27 in the 5k race with a time of 20:20.  Freshman Brynna Wentland (Higginsville, Mo.) came in at No. 152 in a time of 27:57, and Freshman Emily Dolberry (Arlington, Texas) finished in a time of 33:01 to place at No. 164.

 

Up next, the Viking cross country teams compete at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Mo., Sept. 27.
