
No. 18 Men's Wrestling defeats No. 16 Central Methodist on the Road
Fayette, Mo. (Feb. 5, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's wrestling teams traveled to Fayette, Mo., for a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual doubleheader, Wednesday evening. The No. 18 men's team earned a 22-14 win against No. 16 Central Methodist, taking six of the contest weight classes. The No. 10 women's team won seven of the ten weight classes, including four victories by pin to defeat the No. 18 Eagles, 33-14.
Men's Results:
125 pounds: Sophomore Robert Albert (Cape Coral, Fla.) defeated Brian Hill in a first period (1:48) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 6-0.
133 pounds: No. 13 Sophomore Haden Hernandez (Huntington Beach, Calif.) defeated No. 15 Arojae Hart in a 4-1 decision. Missouri Valley leads, 9-0.
141 pounds: No. 21 Senior Donovan Parn (Brookfield, Mo.) defeated Chuck Fitzgerald in a 3-0 decision. Missouri Valley leads, 12-0.
149 pounds: Senior Bryson Anderson (Orting, Wash.) lost to Nevertesonne Lahens in an 11-7 decision. Missouri Valley leads, 11-3 after a team point deduction for the Vikings.
157 pounds: Freshman Brayden Shelton (Centralia, Mo.) lost to No. 2 Donald Griffin in a 6-4 decision. Missouri Valley leads, 11-5.
165 pounds: No. 23 Senior Brenden Parks (Crystal Lake, Ill.) defeated Peyton Asbury in a 9-0 major decision. Missouri Valley leads, 14-5 after a team point deduction.
174 pounds: No. 5 Junior Francis Morrissey (Warner Robins, Ga.) defeated No. 12 Roman Garcia in a first period (1:32) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 19-5, after a team point deduction.
184 pounds: Freshman Jackson Sapp (Wentzille, Mo.) lost to No. 12 Sincere Hall-Osbourne in a third period (6:12) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 19-11.
197 pounds: No. 3 Junior Elijah Hynes (Broken Arrow, Okla.) defeated Jake Henson in a 4-2 decision. Missouri Valley leads, 22-11.
285 pounds: Sophomore Jayden Joseph (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) lost to No. 7 Austin Foye in a 3-1 decision.
Missouri Valley defeats Central Methodist, 22-14.
Up next, the Viking women's wrestling team will compete at the Midland Warrior Open, in Lincoln, Neb., Saturday. The men's team will host Benedictine (Kan.) for Senior Night in a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual, Friday at 7 p.m., inside Burns Athletic Complex.
