
No. 15 Men's Wrestling Defeats Graceland in Home Dual
Marshall, Mo. (Jan. 17, 2025)- The No. 15 Missouri Valley College men's wrestling team hosted No. 21 Graceland (Iowa) in a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual Friday evening inside the Burns Athletic Complex. The Vikings won all the weight classes, including two victories by pin to earn a 43-0 victory.
125 pounds: Graceland left the weight class open. No. 24 Sophomore Robert Albert (Cape Coral, Fla.) won by forfeit. Missouri Valley leads, 6-0.
133 pounds: No. 14 Sophomore Haden Hernandez (Huntington Beach, Calif.) defeated Nick Foster in a 10-1 major decision. Missouri Valley leads, 10-0.
141 pounds: Junior Devin Martinez (El Monte, Calif.) defeated Joe Frazier in a 14-3 major decision. Missouri Valley leads, 14-0
149 pounds: Senior Bryson Anderson (Orting, Wash.) defeated Hoakea Salter in a second period (3:49) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 20-0.
157 pounds: Freshman Brayden Shelton (Centralia, Mo.) defeated Invi Bella in a second period (4:07) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 26-0.
165 pounds: Senior Brendan Parks (Crystal Lake, Ill.) defeated Stephen Dickerson in a 10-4 decision. Missouri Valley leads, 29-0.
174 pounds: No. 7 Junior Francis Morrissey (Warner Robins, Ga.) defeated No. 18 Jett Nelson in a 14-3 major decision. Missouri Valley leads, 33-0.
184 pounds: Senior Drake Tipton (Grain Valley Mo.) defeated Chris Wohrley in an 8-3 decision. Missouri Valley leads, 36-0.
197 pounds: No. 3 Junior Elijah Hynes (Broken Arrow, Okla.) defeated John Schuttler in a 15-4 major decision. Missouri Valley leads, 40-0.
285 pounds: No. 18 Junior Randy Gonzalez (Lakewood, Colo.) defeated Kazz Hyson in an 8-1 decision.

Missouri Valley improves to 10-4 on the season in duals, while Graceland falls to 6-2.
Up next, the Viking men's wrestling team will host the Missouri Valley Invitational, one of the largest NAIA wrestling events in the country. The tournament begins Jan. 24, and continues Jan. 25 inside the Burns Athletic Complex.
