
No. 17 Men's Wrestling Places Eighth at NWCA National Duals
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, (Jan. 11, 2025)- The No. 17 Missouri Valley College men's wrestling team finished competition at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Saturday. The Vikings finished eight overall, finishing with a 2-3 record at the event.
Vs. No. 11 Providence (Mont.).
125 pounds: No. 24 Sophomore Robert Albert (Cape Coral, Fla.) lost to No. 18 Kobi Johnson in a 5-1 decision. Providence leads, 3-0.
133 pounds: No. 17 Sophomore Haden Hernandez (Huntington Beach, Calif.) defeated No. 22 Kina'u McBrayer in an 11-1 major decision. Missouri Valley leads, 4-3.
141 pounds: Junior Devin Martinez (El Monte, Calif.) lost to No. 17 Tristan Bremer in a 14-0 major decision. Providence leads, 7-4.
149 pounds: Sophomore Kristofer Arrey (Riverside, Calif.) lost to Jalen Vladic in a 14-2 major decision. Providence leads, 11-4.
157 pounds: Junior Makoa Goeas (Kahalu'u, Hawaii) lost to No. 1 Aden Graves in a first period (1:01) pin. Providence leads, 17-4.
165 pounds: No. 18 Senior Dayton Hill (Broken Arrow, Okla.) defeated No. 9 Hunter Hobbs in an 11-2 major decision. Providence leads, 17-8.
174 pounds: Sophomore Trevor Wilson (Hannibal, Mo.) lost to No. 13 Bridger Hall in a 7-3 decision. Providence leads, 20-8.
184 pounds: Senior Drake Tipton (Grain Valley, Mo.) lost to No. 5 Sawyer Hobbs in a 9-0 major decision. Providence leads, 24-8.
197 pounds: Junior Emmanuel Ayi-Bonte (Woodbridge, Va.) won by forfeit. Providence leads, 24-14.
285 pounds: No. 23 Sophomore Jayden Joseph (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) lost to No. 14 Ethan DeRoche in a third period (5:53) pin.

125 pounds: No. 24 Albert defeated Brian Peck in a 7-4 decision. Missouri Valley leads, 3-0.

141 pounds: No. 18 Senior Donavan Parn (Brookfield, Mo.) defeated Tristen Brown in a 15-5 major decision. Missouri Valley leads, 10-0.
149 pounds: Arrey lost to No. 1 Nathan Lendt in a 19-3 technical fall. Missouri Valley leads, 10-5.
157 pounds: Freshman Rich Hart (Perkins, Okla.) lost to No. 11 Ben Miller in a first period (2:44) pin. Doane leads, 11-10.
165 pounds: No. 18 Hill defeated Cooper Spaulding in a first period (2:25) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 16-11.
174 pounds: No. 17 Junior Francis Morrissey (Warner Robins, Ga.) defeated Chase Stieb in a 9-3 decision. Missouri Valley leads, 19-11.
184 pounds: Tipton lost to No. 4 Tyson Beauperthuy in a first period (2:15) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 19-17.
197 pounds: No. 2 Hynes lost to No. 3 Bradley Antesberger in a 7-2 decision. Doane leads, 20-19.
285 pounds: Junior Randy Gonzalez (Lakewood, Colo.) lost to No. 9 Kasten Grape in a third period (5:54) pin.
Doane defeated Missouri Valley, 26-19. The Vikings placed eighth at the NWCA National duals.
Missouri Valley moves to 8-4 on the season in duals. Friday, the team earned wins over No. 13 Corban (Ore.), 26-14, and No. 4 Cumberlands (Ky.), 26-15. The Vikings fell to No. 7 Campbellsville (Ky.), 28-18.
Up next, Missouri Valley will travel to Baldwin City, Kan., to meet Baker (Kan.) in a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual, Wednesday at 7 p.m.
