No. 15 Men's Wrestling Tops William Penn in Heart Dual

Oskaloosa, Iowa, (Dec. 5, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's wrestling teams traveled to Oskaloosa, Iowa, for a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual doubleheader, Thursday evening.  The No. 15 men's team won seven of ten matchups to knock off the Statesmen, but the No. 9 women's team fell to No. 6 William Penn.

 

Men's Results:

125 pounds: Sophomore Ryker Smith (Kansas City, Mo.) defeated Jeffery Myers in a 12-3 major decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 4-0.

 

133 pounds: No. 16 Sophomore Haden Hernandez (Huntington Beach, Calif.) defeated No. 23 Lane Scorpil in a 14-4 major decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 8-0.

 

141 pounds: No. 15 Senior Donavan Parn (Brookfield, Mo.) defeated Carson Jensen in a first period (2:21) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 14-0.

 

149 pounds: Freshman Bishop Rush (St. Joseph, Mo.)defeated Hector Diaz in a 15-1 major decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 18-0.

 

157 pounds: Junior Olson Anderon (Orting, Wash.) defeated Trent Evans in a 14-8 decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 21-0.

 

165 pounds: Senior Brenden Parks (Crystal Lake, Ill.) lost to No. 14 Cameron Hargrove in a 9-0 major decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 21-4.

 

174 pounds: Sophomore Trevor Wilson (Hannibal, Mo.) lost to Kendal Pugh in a 12-9 decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 21-7.

 

184 pounds: No. 19 Senior Drake Tipton (Grain Valley, Mo.) lost to Branson Bottor in a 10-5 decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 21-10.

 

197 pounds: No. 2 Junior Elijah Hynes (Broken Arrow, Okla.) defeated Anthony Hackman in a first period (0:43) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 27-10.

 

285 pounds: No. 12 Sophomore Jayden Joseph (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) defeated Jesse Schwery in a 12-2 major decision.

 

Missouri Valley defeated William Penn, 31-10.  The Vikings improve to 3-1 on the season in duals.
