
Track and Field Competes at CMU Invitational
Fayette, Mo., (March 29, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College track and field teams competed at the Central Methodist (Mo.) Invite in Fayette, Mo., Friday and Saturday.
Men's Results:
Freshman Dante Gordon (Kingston, Jamaica)-placed fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 47.79 and placed No. 11 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.76.
Freshman Micah Mumford-placed ninth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.76 and placed No. 12 in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.77.
Sophomore Terrill Davis-placed tenth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.76 meters.
Freshman Joseph James (Excelsior Springs, Mo.)-placed No. 11 in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.51.
Senior Luke Clayton (Wichita, Kan.)-placed No. 11 in the discus with a distance of 34.55 meters and placed No. 13 in the hammer with a distance of 31.48 meters. Clayton placed No. 14 in the shot put with a distance of 11.53 meters.
Freshman Darius Thomas (Fort Worth, Texas)-placed No. 14 in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.18.
Junior Daytona Blaine (Shelbina, Mo.)-placed No. 14 in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:04.61.
Freshman Amardeep Basra (Houston, Texas)-placed No. 25 in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.80 and placed No. 37 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.21.
Freshman Steven Mills (Kansas City, Kan.)-placed No. 29 in the 200 meter dash with a tie of 22.45 and placed No. 32 in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.07.
Freshman Harrison James (Independence, Mo.)-placed No. 38 in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.31.
4x400 meter relay (Griffiths, Mumford, Basra, Gordon)
Women's Results:
Sophomore Isabella Kulenkamp (Warrensburg, Mo.)-placed ninth in the hammer with a distance of 39.92 meters and placed No. 16 in the discus with a distance of 32.30 meters.
Senior Paula Romero Rodriguez (Madrid, Spain)-placed fifth in the hammer with a distance of 42.83 meters and placed ninth in the shot put with a distance of 10.93 meters. Romero Rodriguez also placed No. 14 in the discus with a distance of 33.45 meters.
Sophomore Jozelynn Bostick (Centralia, Mo.)-won the 10,000 meter run with a time of 41:43.70. Bostick also placed tenth in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:15.51.
Freshman Kila Burchett (Stockton, Calif.)-placed fourth in the javelin with a distance of 30.93 meters.
Freshman Aarion Pickens-placed fifth in the shot put with a distance of 11.67 meters and placed No. 16 in the hammer with a distance of 34.48 meters.
Junior Federica Gammarota (Foggia, Italy)-placed sixth in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:08.43 and placed eighth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.48.
Senior Kylie Linson (Troy, Mo.)-placed tenth in the shot put with a distance of 10.90 meters and placed No. 13 in the hammer with a distance of 36.36 meters.
Junior Sydnei Cummings (Elk Grove, Calif.)-placed tenth in the javelin with a distance of 25.55 meters.
Junior Emily Lechuga (LaPorte, Texas)-placed tenth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.90.
Senior Camille Humphrey (St. Peters, Mo.)-placed No. 17 in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:38.96
Freshman Jaedyn Smith-placed No. 20 in the shot put with a distance of 9.56 meters and placed No. 20 in the discus with a distance of 29.05 meters.
Freshman Brynna Wentland (Higginsville, Mo.)-placed No. 23 in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:58.91.
Senior Samantha Bitz (Marion, Ill.)-placed No. 36 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.96.
4x400 meter relay (Lechuga, Bitz, McKoy, Gammarota)-placed third with a time of 4:20.09.
4x800 meter relay (Humphrey, Wentland, Nyasa, McKoy) placed second in a time of 11:49.75.
Up next, the Viking track and field teams will compete at the Lincoln (Mo.) Open in Jefferson City, Mo., April 5.
