Track & Field Competes at Mule Relays
Warrensburg, Mo., (April 12, 2023)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's track and field teams continued their outdoor seasons with the Mule Relays in Warrensburg, Mo., Friday. The teams competed against NCAA Division II and NAIA programs. Freshman Jozelynn Bostick (Centralia, Mo.) set a new program-record in the women's 3000 meter steeplechase.
Women's Results:
Freshman Jozelynn Bostick (Centralia, Mo.) placed seventh in the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 12:08.09. Bostick set a new program-record in the event, last set by Sarah Neimeier in 2015. Also placin the top ten was the 4x400 meter relay team with a seventh place finish with a time of 4:17.61.
Sophomore Federica Gammarota (Sofoggia, Italy): placed tenth in her 100 meter hurdles heat with a time of 16.61. She also placed No. 14 in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:08.32.
Freshman Alexis Neff: placed No. 11 in the pole vault with a height of 2.55 meters.
Junior Samantha Bitz (Marion, Ill.): placed No. 11 in the pole vault with a height of 2.55 meters. She also placed No. 25 in the long jump with a distance of 4.62 meters and No. 43 in the 200 meter dash in a time of 28.15 and No. 54 in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.00.
Junior Paula Romero Rodriguez (Madrid, Spain): placed No. 16 in the hammer throw with a distance of 45.90 meters. She also placed No. 26 in the shot put with a distance of 10.73 meters and No. 29 in the discus with a distance of 32.53 meters.
Sophomore Emily Lechuga (LaPorte, Texas): placed No. 23 in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:13.03.
Junior Kylie Linson (Troy, Mo.): placed No. 24 in the shot put with a distance of 10.87 meters. She also placed No. 26 in the hammer throw with a distance of 40.00 meters.
Freshman Mya McKenzie (St. Louis, Mo.): placed No. 26 in the long jump with a distance of 4.57 meters. She also placed No. 37 in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.25.
Freshman Ahnesty Shurme (Tyler, Texas): placed No. 27 in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.03. He also placed No. 31 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.15.
Junior Arianna Loot (Bay City, Texas): placed No. 35 in the 200 meter dash in a time of 27.27. She also placed No. 44 in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.40.
Freshman Choize Hysten (Topeka, Kan.): placed No. 43 in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.39. She also placed No. 44 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.23.
Freshman Zaya Dove (Kansas City, Mo.): placed No. 45 in the 100 meter dash in a time of 13.50.
Men's Results:
Two Vikings placed in the top ten in their respective events. Freshman Joseph Lepak placed sixth in the javelin with a distance of 55.56 meters. Sophomore Chase Buford (Republic, Mo.) placed eighth in the long jump with a distance of 6.68 meters. He also placed No. 33 in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.36 meters.
Freshman Terrill Davis: placed No. 12 in the triple jump with a distance of 12.69 meters.
Freshman Matthew Fisher (Houston, Texas): placed No. 20 in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:00.06. He also placed No. 56 in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.94.
Sophomore Derel Morris (New York, N.Y.): placed No. 22 in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.44.
Freshman Al'Zaveron Harris (St. Petersburg, Fla.): placed No. 25 in the 400 meter dash in a time of 51.87. He also placed No. 33 in the 200 meter dash with a tie of 22.90.
Freshman Jorge Munoz (Madrid, Spain): placed No. 41 in the 400 meter dash in a time of 55.27.
Senior Khobi Kellerman (Auxvasse, Mo.): placed No. 48 in the 5000 meter run with a tie of 16:09.68.
Freshman Evans Kiptoo: placed No. 55 in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:33.79.
