TRACK AND FIELD TEAMS COMPETE AT THE BEARCAT INVITE

Maryville, Mo., (Feb. 3, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College track and field teams continued their indoor seasons competing at the Bearcat Invite in Maryville, Mo., Saturday. The Vikings competed against programs from multiple collegiate divisions at the event.

 

Men's Results:

Freshman Mac Dawkins (Spokan, Wa.): placed No. 12 in the long jump with a distance of 6.20 meters.

Sophomore Chase Buford (Republic, Mo.): placed No. 14 in the long jump with a distance of 6.16 meters. He also finished 7th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.11.

Sophomore Derel Morris (New York, N.Y.): placed No. 21 in the 600 yard run with a time of 1:17.60.

Senior Khobi Kellerman (Auxvasse, Mo.): placed No. 23 in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 2:39.83.

Freshman Terrill Davis: placed No. 26 in the long jump with a distance of 5.64 meters.

Senior Tyler Polley (Brookfield, Mo.): placed No. 34 in the 600 yard run with a time of 1:32.71.

Junior Ranse Santiago (Kaufman, Texas): placed No. 38 in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 3:04.59.

Freshman Samuel Brown (Cedar Hill, Texas): placed 40th in the 60 meter dash qualifying with a time of 7.42 and did not qualify for the final event.

Freshman Evans Kiptoo: placed No. 45 in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18:06.40.

4x400 meter relay (Morris, Brown, Fisher, Munoz) placed 10th with a time of 3:32.52.

 

Women's Results:

Junior Paula Romero-Rodriguez (Madrid, Spain):  placed 14th in the weight throw with a distance of 14.77 meters. She also finished No. 20 in the shot put with a distance of 11.74 meters.

Sophomore Federica Gammarota (Foggia, Italy): placed No. 25 in the 60 meters hurdles with a time of 10.28 and did not qualify for the final event. 

Junior Kylie Linson (Troy, Mo.):  placed 34th in the weight throw with a distance of 12.72 meters. She also finished No. 38 in the shot put with a distance of 9.95 meters. 

Freshman Isabella Kuenkamp (Warrensburg, Mo.): placed 35th in the weight throw with a distance of 12.63 meters. She also finished No. 44 in the shot put with a distance of 8.59 meters. 

Freshman Zaya Dove (Kansas City, Mo.): placed No. 22 in the 60 meters hurdles with a time of 10.05 and did not qualify for the final event. She also finished No. 47 in the 60 meter dash qualifying with a time of 8.58 and did not qualify for the final event. 

Freshman Mya McKenzie (St. Louis, Mo.): placed No. 38 in the 60 meter dash qualifying with a time of 7.42 and did not qualify for the final event.

Freshman Ahnesty Shurme (Tyler, Texas): placed No. 45 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.36.

Sophomore Emily Lechuga (LaPorte, Texas): placed No. 51 in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:07.62.

4x400 meter relay (Shurme, Loot, Gammarota, Lechuga) placed 13th with a time of 4:20.31.

Up next, the Viking track and field teams will compete at the Washburn Indoor Invite in Topeka, Kan., on Feb. 10, starting at 10 a.m.
