Men's Tennis Tops Mount Marty at Home

Marshall, Mo., (March 4, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College men's tennis team hosted Mount Marty (S.D.) in matches at Indian Foothills Park, Monday afternoon.  The Vikings came away with a 6-1 victory.

Men's Results:

Doubles:

No. 1-Junior Alecson Deschamps (Bluemenau, Brazil)/Junior Alex Ballinger (Northampton, England) lost to Oleksander Makarov/Pablo Rivest, 4-6.

No. 2-Sophomore Alvaro Ruiz (Barcelona, Spain)/Sophomore Marc Bueso (Manresa, Spain) defeated Guilherme Nomura/Kazuma Kato, 6-4.

No. 3- Freshman Richard Tasev (Lisbon, Portugal)/Sophomore Ruslan Anurev (Novorossiysk, Russia) defeated Shriraam Anbanatan/Maj Langerholz, 6-0.

Singles:

No. 1-Anurev defeated Kato, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6.

No. 2-Deschamps defeated Rivest, 6-4, 6-0.

No. 3-Ruiz lost to Makarov, 2-6, 6-3, 6-10.

No. 4-Bueso defeated Luis Lainer, 6-2, 6-3.

No. 5-Ballinger defeated Anbanatan, 6-2, 6-0.

No. 6-Tasev defeated Nomura, 6-4, 6-1.

The Vikings improves to 2-1 on the season.

Up next, the men's and women's tennis teams will travel for matches at McPherson (Kan.), Friday beginning at 1 p.m.
