Bowling Continues Season at Mid-States Classic

Wichita, Kan., (Oct. 24, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College bowling team continued its season competing at the Mid-States Championship in Wichita, Kan.  The Vikings competed against programs from multiple NCAA Divisions and NAIA programs.

 

Individually, the team was led by Freshman Kaden Summers (Moscow, Idaho) who finished with a total of 1,180 pins in six games bowled, for an average of 196.7 per game to place at No. 34 overall.  Senior Wyatt Grunwald (Rathdrum, Idaho) followed at No. 41 overall with a total of 1,163 pins in six games, for an average of 193.8 per game.  Freshman Dakota Lind (Benton, Ark.) placed at No. 54 with a total of 1,129 pins in six games for a 188.2 average.  Also bowling six games for the team was Senior Guy Maptston (Sourlake, Texas) who finished with a total of 1,017 pins for an average of 169.5 to place at No. 84.  Senior Nicholas Miles (Rockledge, Fla.) bowled in two games, totaling 358 pins to place at No. 80 in the average with a 179.  Freshman Jaden Craigen (Olive Branch, Miss.) came in at No. 243 in the average with a 149.3, and Junior Sophia Meadows (Benton, Ark.) finished with a 145 in one game bowled.

 

The Vikings finished with a total of 5,440 pins in six team games, for a 906.7 average, and followed with a total of 2,649 in 16 Baker games for a 165.6 average.  Missouri Valley totaled 8,809 pins and placed at No. 21 in the standings with an 879.2 average.  Wichita State (Kan.) was first overall with a 9,729 total and a 1057.5 average.  Missouri Valley finished in front of Heart members Baker (Kan.) at No. 26 overall with a 7,870 total, Central Methodist (Mo.) at No. 28 with a 7,681 total and Peru State (Neb.) with a 7,371 total.

 

Up next, the bowling teams will compete at the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge in Lawrence, Kan., Saturday and Sunday.
