Bio
Todd Vaughn was a force on the football field, anchoring the defensive line during his time at Missouri Valley College. As a sophomore in 1988, Vaughn earned all-conference honors in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, then followed with a successful junior season. He was a key piece of the 1989 defense that allowed only 14 points per game, and helped the team to a conference championship and a quarterfinal appearance in the NAIA Championship Series, finishing with a 10-2 record. Todd earned first team all-conference honors for his play that season. As a senior in 1990, Vaughn earned his second-straight first team all-conference selection, but added the conference Defensive Player of the Year title and an NAIA All-American selection.
Todd has stayed close to football since leaving Missouri Valley, and has coached high school football for nearly 30 years, including 21 years as a head coach. He has received numerous awards and honors through his time coaching, including the 2003 St. Louis Rams Coach of the Year award, was twice named the SEMO North Conference Coach of the Year and the 2020 Suburban Conference North Division Coach of the Year.
Todd credits his coach, legendary Ken Gibler, as the person who strongly influenced him during his time at Missouri Valley, through being the first real male role model in his life. The values Gibler taught have carried over to Todd helping the kids he coaches, along with Gibler saying that a man is only as good as his word.
