Bio

Tom Venice resides in Sea Girt, NJ with his wife Nancy of 26 years and his five children Nicole, Christopher, Nina, Tyler, and Danielle.  Raised in Kenilworth, NJ he graduated from Springfield Region High School in 1963 where he excelled in athletics while also achieving his academic goals.  In 1963 he enrolled at Missouri Valley College and immediately became an outside linebacker on the varsity football team which was rewarded with second team all-conference honors under the direction of the legendary Volney Ashford.  He was first team all-conference from 1964-66 and NAIA All-American honorable mention in 1965.  Tom was defensive captain his sophomore through senior years, and team captain his senior season. 

As for his wrestling career, he was on the varsity team all four years and became team captain the last three years.  He placed first all-conference his sophomore, junior, and senior years and advanced to the NAIA national wrestling tournament.  Ed Elliot ignited Tom’s desire to advance his wrestling career where he remained undefeated most of his collegiate years supported by Elliot’s direction and guidance. 

From 1963-1967

Tom was a member of the V-Club.  During that time he held the office of Vice-President from 1965-1966 and President from 1966-1967 while also serving as a member of the Newman Club.  Finally Tom was named Mr. Vikings his senior year, 1967. 

After his college career at Missouri Valley College, he returned to New Jersey and accepted a position as a Physical Education teacher football and wrestling coach at Johnson Regional High School in Clark, NJ.  Following that, Tom accepted a graduate assistant position in football at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN.  He earned his Masters of Science in Physical Education.  After completing his Masters he returned home to New Jersey to accept a position at Madison High School as the Physical Education teacher, assistant football coach, and wrestling coach.  Tom remained at Madison High School and multi-tasked as a student at New York University where he earned his second Masters Degree in counseling.  After starting his family, Tom left the education community to join the family business, Mayfair Provisions, in Kenilworth, NJ.  Today he is a proud and dedicated father devoting his time and life experience to raising his family.
