Bio
Raul Orlando Roldan was a successful two-sport student-athlete during his time at Missouri Valley College from 1974-77. He was a four-year letterman in track and field and with the cross country team. In track, Raul set the program’s record in the three-mile run, and also set a record in the six-mile run. In cross country, Raul qualified to compete in the NAIA National Championship in 1974, and qualified for the marathon at the 1975 NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field National championship. Raul was also a four-year member of the V-Club.
During his time as a student at Missouri Valley, Raul was accepted to the US Marine Corps, Platoon Leaders Course, attending the training program in Quantico, Va. Raul spent time as a teacher at nearby Malta Bend (Mo.) High School, earning an MBA. In 1987, Raul began work with the FBI as a Special Agent, serving at field offices in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico. He was a SWAT Team member, and served as a Hostage Negotiator.
In 1996, he was promoted to a management position at FBI headquarters responsible for operations in Latin America. In 1998, Roldan was assigned as the Deputy Legal Attaché in the largest FBI office outside the USA, at the US Embassy, Mexico City. In May 2000, he was promoted to the ranks of the Senior Executive Service, as the Legal Attaché in Mexico City. In 2002, he was assigned to the FBI Academy responsible for domestic and international police education, the development of the FBI’s comprehensive intelligence-analysis, Behavioral Science and Interviewing and Interrogation learning programs. In 2005, Roldan was reassigned to FBI headquarters responsible for investigating worldwide cybercrime, with a focus on child pornography, intellectual property rights, fraud, and information-sharing between federal law enforcement and the private sector. As an FBI spokesperson, Roldan had the distinction of providing testimony to the US Congress on “Aggressively Combating Child- Sexual Exploitation via the Internet,” served as a keynote speaker in numerous venues in the USA; Mexico, Hong Kong and Beijing, China; Moscow, Russia; Budapest, Hungry; and has been interviewed as a subject matter expert by various US and foreign media outlets. Roldan retired from the FBI in 2008 and has worked full time in the private sector managing and conducting investigations worldwide involving foreign corrupt practices, and as a security on-site expert for FIFA in Egypt and Nigeria, and ESPN in Mexico. He worked at 3M Corporation and is currently employed at Scientific Games as senior regional director of compliance in the Caribbean, Spain, Portugal, and Central and South America.
