Bio

Randy “Bear” Hamilton was an imposing figure for the Missouri Valley College football team during his time with the program in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.  He was one of only a select few freshman to earn a letter and play on the 1978 football team that won a Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship and advanced to the National semifinals.  The following three seasons, Randy became one of the most decorated players in the program, earning all-conference, and all-district honors each season, and ended his career as an NAIA All-American in 1981.  That season he was also named team captain and was selected Mr. Viking.

Randy impacted Missouri Valley outside of football as well, as a resident and dorm director after graduating, and was voted a Who’s Who among students in American Universities and Colleges in 1982.  He was also a charter member of the Professional Student Business Association, Alpha Psi Kappa.

Randy has worked professionally as a corporate recruiter, and has also given back to his community through volunteer work.  He is active with Houston Habitat for Humanty, the Houston Food Bank, Big Brother and Big Sister, and the Salvation Army.  He credits Coach Ken Gibler with greatly impacting him while at Missouri Valley, as a gentleman, a great coach, and someone he could look up to.
