Michele (Renschin) Reinke graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1997, with a B.S. in biology.  While at Valley, she became one of the most decorated Missouri Valley College women’s basketball player ever to wear a Lady Viking uniform. She is a two-time NAIA all-American, two time Kodak all-American honorable mention recipient, two time all-conference, and former conference player of the year.  She also was named to several all-tournament and all-district teams in her three seasons playing for the Lady Vikings.  Her career numbers for points (1497- 15.9pg), rebounds (687-7.3pg), field goal percentage (552/1117 - 49.4 %), free throws (369/513 - 72%), assists (249 - 2.65pg), and steals still remain at or near the top of the Viking record books.  Michele also lettered one season on the Lady Viking softball team, earning second team all-conference accolades that year.

A former standout at Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha, Wis., Michele played on the 1994-1995 Missouri Valley College team that was 27-9, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament by winning the Heart of America Athletic Conference. During that season, she was voted to the HAAC All-Conference 1st Team, selected as the HAAC Player of the Year and was voted on the NAIA Division II All-American 1st Team.

After receiving a M.S. in forest resources (ecology) from the University of Arkansas-Monticello, Michele followed in the footsteps of Reed Kepner, her mentor and friend, to become an assistant professor of biology at Missouri Valley College, where she takes pride in mentoring a new generation of Valley students.  As a faculty member she has been involved in student research, the Biology Club, research partnerships with the Missouri Department of Conservation, and assisting with the women’s basketball program. She and her husband, David, reside in rural Malta Bend with their daughter, Savannah.
