Bio
Homer was a native of Hollandale, MN and graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1951. Homer attended Missouri Valley College on the G.I. Bill after his service in the United States Army.
Homer played football for four-years, and was co-captain his junior and senior years. Homer also competed in basketball and track, was elected as senior class president, and was named to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.
After graduation Homer played semi-pro football in Dallas before embarking on a very successful career as an actuary in the insurance business. Even after his retirement, Homer remained active acting as an actuary consultant.
Homer and his wife Janet had two sons, Alan and Brian, and were members of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Richardson, TX until Homer’s death in 1995. Homer was inducted into the Missouri Valley College Athletic Hall of Fame posthumously.
