Bio
Frank Loeffler III came to Missouri Valley College in 1961 and became a leader for the Viking football team. Frank was a three-year member of the Viking football program from 1961-1963, serving as a co-captain his senior season. For his work on the gridiron, Frank was chosen as an all-conference athlete his junior and senior seasons. Following his playing career at Missouri Valley Frank was signed as a free agent to the Buffalo Bills.
Outside of football, Frank was a member of the MVC track and field team and a two-year member of V-Club, serving as vice president his senior year. Frank was also a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and active in intramural sports.
Frank graduated from Missouri Valley College with a degree in economics. After graduation, Frank worked as marketing manager with International Harvester-Overseas Division, director of Maintenance and Transportation operations for the Decatur County board of education and marketing manager for Flint River Mills. Frank retired from the work force in 2006.
Frank says three people influenced him greatly during his time at Missouri Valley. Coach Volney C. Ashford was his mentor and Coach Ashford’s guidance helped to define the person he became. He also says former Economics Professor Gerald Sanders devoted a great deal of time in and out of the classroom on his behalf. Frank says observing William “Pop” Ferguson showed him that you can be a kind and caring person and still be successful.
