Bio
Jeff graduated with honors from Missouri Valley College in 1978. While at Valley Jeff played on four HAAC Conference Championship teams: ’74, ‘75 (tie), ‘76, and ’77. He was awarded All-HAAC running back in 1976, 1977 and earned NAIA honorable mention in 1976. He was named to the 2nd team NAIA All American as a running back in 1977.
Jeff ran track for three years and was on the HAAC Conference Championship 440 relay in 1978. He was a member of the V-Club and Sigma Nu social fraternity.
Jeff taught high school from 1978 to 1983. In the fall of 1983, Jeff returned to his alma mater to be an assistant coach under the leadership of the legendary Ken Gibler. Jeff reported that Ken Giber and Reed Kepner are the individuals who influenced him the most while a student and professional at Valley.
During his tenure at Valley, Jeff also coached track, women’s softball, and golf. Jeff hung up his coaching shoes in 1990 and focused on the classroom for the next ten years, during which time he spearheaded the adoption of the Exercise Science major.
