Bio

Deandre Campbell made his mark at Missouri Valley on the football field, producing some of the biggest numbers in program-history for a running back. He still holds a number of records for the football program, including the single-game records for most touchdowns (6), most rushing touchdowns (5), most rushing yards (313) and most points scored (36) in a 58-14 win over MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) University in 1993. Deandre also holds the record for most career touchdowns (51). He was a three-time All-American, three-time first team all-conference running back, two-year captain, four-year letter-winner and was a Ted Chittwood Award winner.

Deandre graduated from Missouri Valley with a degree in communications. He played two seasons of professional football, including one season with the Florida Bobcats of the Arena Football League. He received his master's degree in secondary administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2013. Since 2006, Deandre has been the Roosevelt (Mo.) High School head football coach. Prior to his current position, he had been an assistant coach at various schools. More than 100 of his students have received athletic and academic scholarships. His other achievements include becoming the Program Facilitator Assistant of the NFL High School Player Development Program in 2008, releasing a book titled "Riding Out the Storm" in 2008 that focuses on St. Louis inner city high school football and was selected as head coach for the Missouri high school team in the Missouri vs. Illinois, St. Louis All-Star Classic Football Game in 2013. Deandre is a member of the Urban Coaches' Alliance where four of his former players have gone on to the NFL.

Deandre credits his football coach, Greg Purdum, as someone who greatly impacted him at Missouri Valley. He says Purdum was more than a coach to him, serving as a mentor, motivator and a friend, teaching him about making positive choices and the importance of hard work. The two have stayed in close contact, and Greg was on Deandre's coaching staff for the All-Star Football Game in 2013.
