Bio
Brad Drehle helped lead Missouri Valley on the football field as a four-year letterman at the quarterback position. Brad was the starting quarterback for the Viking football team from 1988-1990 and compiled a 25-7 record as a starter. He helped lead MVC to a conference championship in 1989 and led MVC to the quarterfinal round of the NAIA Division II Football Championship Series. During his time at Missouri Valley, Brad earned a number of honors, including all-conference and all-district recognition in both 1989 and 1990 and was a 1990 NAIA Preseason All-America selection. Brad was also voted as a co-captain for the 1990 season. Off the field, Brad was involved in basketball, the V-Club and was a member of the TKE fraternity.
Brad earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 1990 and later got his Master of Arts in education in 1998 from Baker University. Brad's professional career includes more highlights from the football field, this time as a head coach. Brad has been the head football coach at Blair Oaks (Mo.) High School since 2006 and has compiled a record of 97-22 during his tenure. Brad won a state championship in 2006, was a state runner-up in both 2007 and 2012 and reached the state semifinals to additional seasons. Brad has earned a number of coaching honors during his time at Blair Oaks, including Tri-County Coach of the Year five times, District Coach of the Year four times and MOFBCA Coach of the Year in 2006. Prior to his time at Blair Oaks, Brad was the head football coach at William Chrisman (Mo.) High School from 2001-2006 compiling a 20-31 record and winning the program's first district title in 2002.
Brad credits both Ken Gibler and Reed Kepner as people who were positive impact on him during his time at Missouri Valley College. Brad says both still influence him on a daily basis and he uses quotes, sayings and lessons from Gibler on a daily basis. He adds that Kepner taught him that we teach people, not a subject, and that material is important but never more important than the individual.
Brad is married to Carey (Mikels) Drehle, '92.
