Bio
Bill was a Chicago area native, and attended Missouri Valley College 1946-50, and was a World War II Navy veteran. During his football career at Missouri Valley College Bill was 2nd Team All-MCAU (1946), 1st Team All-MCAU (1947-49), All-American 1949, and football team tri-captain 1949. Bill was a major contributor to MCAU conference championship teams 1946-48. Bill was an integral member and leader of the undefeated teams of ’46, ’47, and ’48 during the 41 game win streak. Bill played in five bowl games winning two, losing two, and tying one (Two Cigar Bowls, Ranch, Refrigerator, and Oleander Bowls). Bill was a tireless performer starting on offense, defense, and all special teams. During his track career Bill was a four year letterman as a sprinter, specializing in relays. Bill was a medalist at multiple MCAU track meets, and was a valuable member of four consecutive MCAU track championships from 1947-50.
Bill was a man of high integrity and ethics; he was a gifted athlete, and a gentleman in every sense of the word.
