Men's Volleyball Makes Big Jump in Latest Coaches' Poll

Marshall, Mo., (March 19, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College men's volleyball team made a big up the rankings in the latest NAIA Men's Volleyball Coaches' Top 15 Poll, released Wednesday.

Missouri Valley moved up eight spots, the most of any team in the coaches' poll, to the No. 3 ranking.  This is the highest position for the program in the coaches' poll since also being ranked No. 3 back on March 10, 2021.  The Vikings went 5-0 during the latest ratings period, which included four wins over Nationally ranked teams at the time of the contests.  Missouri Valley defeated No. 15 William Penn, No. 6 Grand View (Iowa) and No. 4 Missouri Baptist in four games, topped No. 9 Park (Mo.) in five games and swept Culver-Stockton (Mo).

A total of five teams from the Heart are featured in the preseason poll.  Missouri Baptist dropped to No. 5, Mount Mercy (Iowa) remained at No. 7, Grand View (Iowa) fell to No. 8, and Park (Mo.) stayed to No. 9.  Missouri Valley is 4-3 on the season against ranked teams, including a win over No. 6 Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.).

The Vikings are 12-2 overall and 8-2 in the Heart.  Up next are two matches at home this weekend.  The first is Friday at 7 p.m., against Dordt (Iowa), followed by a Saturday match at 1 p.m., against Morningside (Iowa), both inside the Burns Athletic Complex.
