
Women's Basketball Puts Three on Heart All-Conference Team
Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 28, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College women's basketball team has put three of its student-athletes on the 2025 Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference Team, released Friday.
Leading the selections is Senior Giavanna Moore (Independence, Mo.), who was a first team all-conference selection. Moore becomes a four-time selection to the all-conference first team, and is the first player in program-history with the achievement. This season, Moore led the team in scoring (14.9 points per game) and steals (42), while adding 75 assists. Moore also became the program's all-time leader in points scored, and sits at 1,691 points in her career. In addition to the first team all-conference selection, Moore was also recognized on the Heart All-Defensive Team, and is the second player in program-history to earn conference defensive recognition, joining Ana Arroyo from the 2021-22 season.
Both Senior Ylenia Exposito (Tenerife, Canary Islands) and Sophomore Ricarda Schott (Krefeld, Germany) were named to the all-conference second team. The pair earned their first all-conference selections. Exposito finished the season averaging 14.0 points per game, led the team in assists (81) and averaged 4.7 rebounds per game. Schott averaged 12.0 points per game, shooting a team-high .522 percent from the floor, to go with 4.7 rebounds per game.
Missouri Valley sits at 22-7 overall on the season, and finished conference play with an 18-6 overall record. The 22 wins is the most for the program since the 1994-95 season, and is the first 20-win season since 1999-00.
Missouri Valley will now wait on a possible at-large selection into the 2025 NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship. The field will be announced by the NAIA March 6.
