
Football Coach LaQuentin Black Announces Coaching Staff
Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 4, 2025)- Missouri Valley College football head coach LaQuentin Black has announced his coaching staff for the 2025 season.
Black was hired as the fourteenth head coach in football program-history last month, and has filled out the remainder of his staff, featuring nine assistant coaches.
David Calloway-Associate Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator:
David Calloway spent the previous two seasons at NCAA FCS Arkansas-Pine Bluff, as the team's Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach. Calloway was the Head Coach for the Central Methodist (Mo.) program from 2016-22, winning a Heart South Division title and making an appearance in the NAIA Football Championship Series in 2021. He has nearly 30 years of coaching experience across multiple collegiate divisions.
Jack Goulet-Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line/Recruiting Coordinator:
Jack Goulet comes to Missouri Valley after spending the 2024 season as the Co-Offensive Coordinator and Co-Recruiting Coordinator at NCAA Division III Otterbein (Ohio). Goulet also served as the Offensive Line Coach at Midland (Neb.) during the 2022-23 seasons, and held the same position at Central Methodist (Mo.), during the 2020-21 seasons.
Jacoby Bellard-Co-Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receivers/Pro Liaison:
Jacoby Bellard returns to Missouri Valley, this time as a member of the coaching staff. Bellard was part of the football program as a wide receiver from 2011-15, helping the team to four-straight Heart championships and four-straight NAIA FCS appearances. Recently, Bellard has served as Quarterback Director at Jenkins Elite, LLC, in Raleigh, N.C., and was on-staff at Central Methodist (Mo.) from 2017-22, serving as Wide Receivers Coach, Quarterback Coach and Offensive Coordinator during that span.
Jake Wilson-Special Teams Coordinator/Linebackers/Football Operations:
Jake Wilson stays on staff, and has been an assistant coach with the Missouri Valley program since the 2022 season. Originally brought in as a Defensive Line Coach, Wilson has earned a promotion to Special Teams Coordinator. Wilson also spent two seasons coaching the defensive line and special teams at Peru State (Neb.), in the 2020-21 seasons.
Allen Suber II-Quarterbacks/Passing Game Coordinator:
Allen Suber II remains on staff, after joining the Missouri Valley football program prior to the 2024 season. Before coming to Missouri Valley, Suber spent the 2023 season as the Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Wharton (Fla.) High School. From 2017-2020 Suber was Assistant Head Coach at NCAA FCS Bethune-Cookman (Fla.), and Assistant Head Coach at NCAA FCS Alabama State from 2015-17.
Greg Purdum-Running Backs/Strength & Conditioning/High School & Alumni Relations:
Greg Purdum has been part of the Missouri Valley football program for more than 50 years. As a player in the 1970's, Purdum helped the team to a National runner-up finish in 1974, and later served as Head Coach from 1991-1995, winning 31 games, winning a Heart championship and earning an NAIA FCS appearance in the 1994 seasons. He was inducted into the Missouri Valley College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016, and rejoined the coaching staff in 2018.
Dalton Wright-Nickles:
Dalton Wright comes to Missouri Valley after spending the 2023-24 seasons at NCAA FCS Northern Iowa, serving as a Defensive Analyst, Linebackers Assistant Coach and Cornerbacks Assistant Coach.
Erik Mays-Assistant Defensive Backs:
Erik Mays joins the coaching staff after playing professional in the 2023-24 seasons with the Gillette Mustangs and Tulsa Oilers of the IFL. Mays was a volunteer assistant at Marshall (Mo.) High School.
Willie Jackson-Assistant Offensive Line/Tight Ends:
Willie Jackson joined the Missouri Valley football coaching staff following the conclusion of the 2024 season, and will remain on-staff heading into the 2025 seasons, as Assistant Offensive Line and Tight Ends Coach.
"I really took the time to listen to your student-athletes on some of the key things they were looking for in their position coaches," said Black. "I wanted to do everything I could to listen, process and most importantly, receive everything they said to me. I truly feel these coaches exemplify being great teachers, developers and most importantly, great men who are relationship drive individuals who will help get the best out of our student-athletes on and off the field."
The 2025 regular season begins with a home game, Sept. 6, against Clarke (Iowa).
